Do you know the best way to connect with those who buy from you?

I had the pleasure of seeing Sophie Ellis-Bextor recently and not only is she a talented singer and performer, she’s fabulous at connecting with her audience.

How?

She spoke to them on a personal level!

  • She talked about her family (5 sons!!!) and how the Friday night discos she created in her home with all the craziness of her young children, entertained and inspired people during lockdown.
  • She gave her audience quirky local facts, showing them she had taken the time to get to know their community.
  • She asked questions and listened to the responses.
  • She sat in the audience and sang a beautiful song alongside everyone.
  • She even changed part of her outfit on stage, explaining that when she’d gone backstage during the performance, she couldn’t see what she was doing in the dark and had put it on back to front! 

All of this made me feel like:

  • She was someone I could easily relate to and happily go for a drink with!
  • I want to tell everyone how amazing she is and encourage them to see her.
  • I would play her music even more in my car and at home
  • I’d buy some of her merchandise
